House of Kartheiser (“we,” “our,” “this site”) operates
houseofkartheiser.company. This policy explains what
information the site collects, why, and what your choices
are.

WHO WE ARE
This site showcases the work of Mark Kartheiser — design,
construction, web design, custom computers, data
analytics, 3D/VR, and consulting — based in Ottawa,

INFORMATION YOU GIVE US
Contact forms: when you send a message or start a project
or charity request, we receive what you submit — typically
your name, email address, and your message. We use it to
respond and to carry out the work you ask about. We do not
sell it or share it with third parties for their
marketing.

Forum accounts: if you create a free account on our
community forum (The Workshop), we store the username,
email address, and password hash you register with, plus
the content you post. Posting requires an account; reading
does not. You can request deletion of your account and
posts at any time via the contact email above.

Email updates: if you opt in to email updates, we use your
address to send them and nothing else. Every email will
include an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the
mailings. We will not add you to a mailing list without
your consent.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
Analytics: we use website analytics to understand which
pages are visited and how the site performs (pages viewed,
approximate location by region, device and browser type).
This data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify you
personally.

Security and spam protection: the site uses security
tooling that logs requests (including IP addresses) to
detect and block malicious traffic, and Google reCAPTCHA
on forms to filter bots. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s
Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The site also
includes hidden trap links designed only for abusive
automated crawlers; ordinary visitors never interact with
them.

Cookies: the site uses a small number of cookies for
performance (caching), security, and — if you log in to
the forum — keeping you signed in. You can block cookies
in your browser; core pages will still work, but you
won’t be able to stay logged in.

EMBEDDED CONTENT
Some pages embed content from other services (for example,
YouTube videos). When you play embedded content, that
service may collect data about you as if you had visited
it directly, under its own privacy policy.

HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your inquiry
and our records of completed work. Forum accounts and
posts: until you delete them or ask us to. Security logs:
rotated automatically on a short schedule. Analytics:
retained in aggregate.

YOUR RIGHTS
You may ask us to show you, correct, or delete the
personal information we hold about you. Email
services@houseofkartheiser.company and we will respond.
If you are in a region with specific privacy rights
(GDPR, CCPA, or similar), those rights apply to the data
described above, and the same email is the way to
exercise them.

CHILDREN
This site is a professional portfolio and community for
adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13.

CHANGES
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted
here with an updated effective date.
